Our field technicians/installers are dispatched to install, remove and troubleshoot Speed of Light Broadband equipment on-site for our customers. This is a contract position.

Our technical support staff primarily perform the following duties:

  • Installation, service, and maintenance of RF-based fixed terrestrial wireless internet systems
  • Programming and alignment of radio equipment
  • Installation of external and internal wiring on-site
  • Deal with customers directly to determine best individual solution
  • Instruct customers on use and troubleshooting guidelines

Candidates wishing to join our Field Technician/Install staff should possess the following skills:

  • Strong critical thinking, logic, and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Understanding of home/end-user computing and networking
  • Knowledge of Cambium fixed wireless equipment a plus
  • Knowledge of construction principles a plus

Candidates withing to join our Field Technician/Install team must be comfortable working at elevated heights (on ladders, roofs, buildings, etc.) and must possess their own full-size truck or van.

Speed of Light Broadband is a locally owned Fixed Wireless company offering internet service in the North Texas area. Our Technical Support Staff work with customers to resolve issues related to their internet connection or equipment provided by Speed of Light Broadband. This is considered an entry-level, conditional position with the potential for full-time employment based on performance during the provisional period.

Our technical support staff primarily perform the following duties:

  • Through phone based interactions, you will gather customer information and address customer issues and concerns.
  • Use critical thinking and effective communication to efficiently discern, troubleshoot, and resolve customers’ technical issues including, but not limited to: internet connectivity, email clients, and VoIP.
  • Promptly and accurately escalate problems as needed to appropriate departments.
  • Stay current on pertinent hardware and software information, changes, and updates in order to better interpret and troubleshoot issues.
  • Work with interdepartmental staff to support new installations and service calls.
  • Assist with monitoring, programming, and maintaining equipment to ensure peak performance.
  • Enter both customer and technical data into relevant databases accurately and efficiently.

Candidates wishing to join our technical support staff should possess the following:

  • A strong work ethic, punctuality, and good attendance are a must.
  • Good analytical, multi-tasking, problem solving, and technical troubleshooting diagnostic skills.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with a high level of patience and ability to tactfully explain technical information to not so technical people.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows-based computer systems. Apple and Linux understanding is a plus.
  • Functional understanding of home or end-user networking design and equipment, including router configuration and troubleshooting.

Candidates wishing to join our Technical Support Staff must have evening and weekend availability. This position will likely be for either a Tuesday through Saturday shift or Sunday through Thursday shift. Weekend availability will be a must once the provisional period is over and an offer of full-time employment is made.

Pay: Starting pay is $10 per hour for the conditional period. Pay will be based on performance and commensurate with experience once a full-time offer is made.

Training: As this is considered an entry-level role, on-job-training is part of the provisional period. While the skills, education, and experience specified above are what we look for in an ideal candidate, we will help you become a member of our team.
