Installation includes one outside wall, attic or line drop to a single computer, hub or switch. Additional cable runs for multiple computers are available for $80.00 each.
Terms of Service
Terms of Service may be revised, updated, replaced or discontinued, in whole or in part, at any time by Speed of Light Broadband. Customer will be notified of changes to the Terms of Service by (i) posting such revised Terms and Conditions on the SOL Web Site at http://www.solbroadband.com/ServiceAgreement.html , and/or (ii) sending Email to Customer notifying Customer of such changes. Notifications will be sent to the customers email on file with the SOL billing department. It is the customer’s responsibility to notify SOL of any changes to their email address (send changes to billing@solbroadband.com)
Service Call Policy
If any support issue cannot be resolved via telephone or email, Speed of Light will send out a technician to diagnose the problem. If the problem or issue is found to be with any of the Speed of Light owned equipment or hardware we will fix or replace it at no cost to customer. If the issue is not due to our hardware or system customer will pay our current cost for a service call of $50.00. Service call fee does not include repairing customer's computer, software, routers etc and only includes a test of our system to verify proper working conditions.
Ownership, Safety and Return of Equipment
Customer acknowledges and agrees that all installed equipment (other than installed wire, cable, jacks etc) remains the property of SOL. Customer is responsible for the safekeeping and proper return of equipment to SOL upon termination of service. SOL will remove all SOL owned hardware at no charge to customer upon termination of service within 15 days of written notification to the notification address below or any email notification to billing@solbroadband.com that is acknowledged by Agent or representative of SOL in a return email or written acknowledgement received by customer. Any customer refusing to allow access to any representative of SOL to uninstall and remove hardware will result in customer being charged $10.00 per day lease rate until the hardware is returned or allowed to be uninstalled by an SOL representative. Any abandonment of hardware by customer without written notification will result in customer being charged the full retail replacement value of SOL owned hardware. Customer will be charged replacement cost in the event of any theft, fire, or damage to SOL owned equipment while at customer location.
Single entity ONLY
The services provided to you by Speed of Light Broadband are provided ONLY to the single Location/Building and Entity. Customer is not allowed to share, retransmit, or connect this service to any other residence, building, business or tenant including those at the same address without written permission from SOL. Any customer found sharing the connection with other buildings, homes, tenants, residences, etc may have their service immediately terminated. Sharing the service is theft not unlike distributing satellite TV services to your neighbors.
Prohibited Services
We do NOT allow ANY customers including business customers to run servers of ANY kind without permission from Us. This includes but is not limited to FTP, Game Servers, Video Servers, File Servers, Music Servers WWW, Email servers, File sharing/Peer to Peer or any other software which provides files, videos, music or data to others in an automated and unattended fashion. Any customer found running servers without permission will have their accounts severely limited in speed and number of allowed connections without notice. This is to protect the other customers and the entire network.
Service Usage Limitations
We offer unlimited use accounts for our customers HOWEVER we reserve the right to limit any account due to excessive use to protect our other customers. If you frequently use a Gigabyte or more per day your account will most likely be limited. Its highly unlikely through normal WWW surfing, email or software updates to use a Gigabyte a day even in a small business environment.
Antivirus software required
Customers are required to have up to date Antivirus software installed on all computers using the service. Any customer infected with a virus that harms the network will immediately be deactivated without notice until they have the issue solved. If you need help finding anti virus software or would like to obtain free software please contact us at support and we will be glad to point you to software you can download for free.
Surge Protector Recommended
Customers are recommeded to use a surge protector in conjunction with all SOL owned equipment (radio, etc.) If you do not own a surge protector, one will be offered to you by our installer for $29.95. This is our cost. Failure to buy the surge protector makes it more likely that the router, or computer, if directly connected, will be damaged due to electrical storms, power surges, etc. We may not be held accountable to service our equipment if damaged by unprotected power surges, without charge.
Billing Policy
SOL service invoices are generated on the 15th day of each month for the FOLLOWING month. For example, on March 15th, invoices are generated for the month of April. Your payment is due by the 1st day of the month and late by 5th day of the month. Late notices are generated by email and paper on April 3rd. Late charges are issued when payment is not received in accordance with our standard service agreements. Our payment options include: cash, check, automatic credit card (all major accepted) and automatic debit from your checking account (Echeck.) The last two options are preferred.
Upon installation you are required to pay one month in advance, and/or any partial month, plus whichever installation option you choose. For example, if you are installed during the 1-14 day of the month, you would only pay a partial month in advance, since billing for the following month will occur on the 15th. If you are installed on the 15-31 day of the month, you would pay a partial month PLUS the following month in advance. Any questions regarding this policy should be directed to billing@solbroadband.com and will be promptly answered.
If Customer fails to pay any amounts when due, SOL will, after 15 days when payment is due, charge Customer a late fee of 15% of the amount due. If Customer repeatedly fails to pay within 15 days of the payment due date, then SOL may suspend Service without notice. Restarting the Service will require payment of all amounts due, in addition to a re-activation fee of $50.
Cancellation Policy
Customer will be responsible for paying out the initial term of this contract if cancelled befor expiration date, or paying cancellation fee, whichever is less. 24 month term = $199 cancellation fee, 12 month term = $99 cancellation fee. Fees will be charged to credit/debit card on file. if customer vacates premises without calling to have SOL come and pick up equipment, customer will be charged until equipment is picked up and in good working order. There is no charge for equipment pick up.
